Employment & Payroll Taxes Proper Representation in Business Tax Matters: We know that businesses that ignore or trivialize the problems associated with delinquent or nonpayment of payroll taxes will suffer assessments for substantial federal and state employment taxes. Penalties, interest and the seizure of assets and property will also follow. In severe cases, because these issues are considered to be related to "trust fund" taxes, the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies will seek criminal prosecution as a means of collection. Plus, the authorities have been given much greater power to recover what is due in cases related to payroll tax issues. They are bound by law to collect payroll taxes due by a business or corporation, and they can collect these taxes from owners, officers and even employees if certain criteria are met. For all of these reasons, we advise anyone who owes employee payroll
taxes or is working for a company that is experiencing payroll tax
problems, to immediately address these concerns and seek resolution of the
problem by hiring a qualified tax attorney to represent them. As in all
cases, any information or documents collected by the authorities dealing
with these issues, can and will be used to prosecute those involved to the
fullest extent of the law, and to assess and collect any all taxes owed. These issues are
extremely time sensitive and should be dealt with immediately. |
